This is a very interesting sighting. I suspect the cam is perched on the roof of a tall bank building in Mesa, AZ and is likely used for weather monitoring. The camera is pointed toward the east and the Superstition mountains in my neighborhood.
The object itself is very interesting. No wings to suggest a plane and it seems to be lit from within. The sun has already set so it can’t be a reflection. It has a cylinder shape that doesn’t seem to be perfectly symmetrical. Although that may just be light distortion. To my eye, it doesn’t seem to be an optical distortion or digital artifact. It’s placement seems to suggest a real object in the sky.
In any event, what’s significant is that around this same time frame, within a week or so, I saw an alleged craft hovering just below the top of one of the mountains in the distance as I was driving home from work one night. It was definitely anomalous because aircraft never ever fly that close to the mountain and it had a light signature unlike any other plane I’ve seen. To add some more mystery, my wife saw something hovering over the same mountain a week later in broad daylight and the night after I saw an object, another sighting took place near Tucson that was reported by several witnesses and police officers.
For me this confirms that there was indeed some unusual activity taking place at that time, part of which both my wife and I, and others were witness to. It would be lovely if we could get a sequence from the cam instead of a frame capture. Somebody must have it. Then we could see if it was moving, or just appeared and disappeared. Arghh!
The link to the web cam does not work so I have to assume it’s either out of date or has been removed completely.
