West Germany, which had been the scene of so many visits by the UFO’s, (Unidentified Flying ObjectS)  including some reported landings, named the father of German Rocketry, the world- famous space-travel scientist, Professor Hermann Oberth, to head their UFO probe. After three years of studying the information supplied by his own and other governments, the outspoken Oberth said at a news conference in 1954: “There is no doubt in my mind that these objects (UFO’s) are interplanetary craft of some sort. I am confident that they do not originate in our solar system, but they may use Mars or some other body for a way station. It is also our conclusion that they are propelled by distorting or converting the gravitational field.”

Shortly after he made this remarkable statement to newsmen at Frankfort, Professor Oberth was flown to the USA and placed under security regulations as a consultant to his former student,
Wernher Von Braun, at the Redstone Rocket Arsenal. These regulations prevented Oberth from making any more public statements until 1959, when he returned to Europe. As soon as he landed in Frankfurt he told newsmen, “there was a world-wide effort to learn how gravity could be put to use as a form of energy.  He added that he expected men would be traveling to the moon in electrically driven devices within five to ten years.” Thanks to Frank Edwards’ Strange World, Lyle Stewart, New York, 1964, pp. 209 – 210.

An unidentified object has been observed going at great speed across the whole of Germany. Axel Raab of Germany’s air traffic safety office, the DFS, said: “We have ruled out all the conventional possibilities — it is a mystery.” Crack Luftwaffe Tornado Interceptor pilots were scrambled in a UFO drama over German airspace, it emerged today (Thursday). Numerous people also reported their sightings on the 19th of January.
Radar control monitors were chaotic, unable to keep track of the activity due to it flashing on and off their screens. Freak weather, planes, and weather balloons were not the cause. The defense security has investigated all the predictable possibilities and says it was a mystery. It was last logged above the grounds of a base still actively used by US troops for training exercises, before instantly disappearing. Thanks to the UK Sun.

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, — A group of eight people were outside lighting fireworks on January 1, 2009, and noticed an orange orb  in the sky from 10 PM to 12:15 AM. The object moved quickly left and right several times and even came toward us and away again. I estimate the object was a good mile away and made no noise. I was the only UFO interested person among this group and I paid close attention until it disappeared. This event occurred about two miles from the west gate of Ramstein Airbase.
