Coast Guard UFO Encounter

The witness was stationed aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Spencer a 327 foot ship conducting Ocean Station duty out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The ship was decommissioned in 1974, so the sighting was most likely in the summer of 1973. The conditions were warm, seas calm, and sighting occurred during the night. The witness states, I remember someone saying, “Come on deck, there’s a UFO! The UFO had bright lights that changed color and was checking us out. The UFO would come down hovering above us. We could see portholes and rotated as it hovered as its lights changed color. Then it climb high up in a second becoming very small. Then it seemed to show off, as if it knew we were watching it. It would accelerate across the sky in a split second while doing sharp right angle turns.

There were 140 men aboard the Spencer, and a large number of my fellow crewmen witnessed the UFO. My friend had some state-of-the-art photo equipment who was photographing this UFO. We were on station in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with all running lights on helping air traffic as usual. Crew members were taking photos of this craft with telephoto lens. I remember I could not wait to see the photos after they were developed, but I never got to see them. The show lasted about an hour and messages of this sighting were sent to Washington, DC.

When we were relieved from Ocean Station Duty, we headed back to Governor’s Island, to Yankee Pier our homeport. As we were docking, I saw quite a few “Men in Black” waiting to board our ship. Usually after docking, we were granted liberty of usually 72 hours but no one was allowed to leave the ship. These “Men in Black interrogated us all one by one for hours. We signed an affidavit, stating we saw nothing and were warned that if we mention this to anyone, we would be gone. We were told not to go to any news media, and try to tell this story. If we did, we would be prosecuting by the government. My friend had all of his photo equipment, pictures, and developing equipment confiscated. Thanks to Peter Davenport and the Filer Files.

My husband and I were outside smoking a cigarette in the backyard when he saw a strange red/orange glowing light, the witness stated. It was similar to the two lights I told him I had seen the week before, but no one believed me (around the same time almost a week before). The first one was coming towards us and then a plane flew parallel and the UFO shot up and away from us, turning into what looked like a satellite. After that experience, two more, flying very close to each other came toward us. The smaller of the two dimmed out before the larger and closer one moved to the left and dimmed out. It gave off a flash a couple of times before it too looked like a satellite. We watched it until we could no longer see it. We have a few photographs and a video but my husband was shaking so bad the pictures did not turn out so well.
When I had seen two objects the week before (by myself) no one had believed me and told me they were flares. These objects were not flares. They had movement to them that are indescribable. I was starting to believe I imagined them until my husband and I saw them again! Finally, I knew I was not imagining them! My husband and I were both in the military (in air department) and my husband works for a government-contracting agency. These “orbs” were not anything we have seen before.

“What I see looks almost like a Frisbee,” she said. “You see a several lights going around, and they’re all symmetrical and lit up, and it just looks like an object in the sky.”

“B-P” is hesitant to call the string of lights in the sky UFOs, although she can’t identify the flying objects.

“We’ve seen falling stars, all kinds of stuff out there because you’re away form the city,” she said. “Anytime there’s a meteor shower or anything, you can see it a lot better, but I’ve never seen anything like that.”

“B-P” said the pictures were taken by a single motion-activated game camera. The equipment wasn’t moved, and it doesn’t have a flash. Instead, it uses infrared. She said she has ruled out light posts or cell phone towers because the area is pretty empty.

“There’s nothing back there but trees and sky,” she said. “There’s no hills, no buildings, nothing back there. It’s all flat.”

Time stamps on several pictures also show that the object hovered in the air for almost two hours.
Whatever it is, she is now a little hesitant to go out to her deer blind alone.

“It’s creepy,” “B-P” said. “I don’t know if I want to be sitting out in my deer stand by my self anymore, hunting.”

Archer City, which is just south of Wichita Falls, is also close to Sheppard Air Force Base. The installation did not immediately return requests asking if it had planes up the night the pictures were taken.

Over the decades, there have been a number of UFO witnesses who have described having terrifying–and even sickening–experiences after UFO encounters.

These didn’t involve little green men attacking or experimenting on them, or even harassment by Men in Black, but instead dealt with odd symptomatic conditions that appeared to result from radiation poisoning, specifically for those who managed to be get particularly close to hovering or landed UFO craft.

During a recent conversation I shared with a friend of mine named Wes Owsley, we were discussing an interview he had conducted with physicist Stanton Friedman a while back. Friedman, with a background in nuclear physics that resulted in a Bachelors Degree and Master of Science from the University of Chicago, had worked for programs overseen by companies such as defense contractor McDonnell Douglas early in his career, at which time highly advanced, classified programs involving nuclear aircraft, rockets, and nuclear fuel sources for use in outer space were being undertaken. According to Owsley, Friedman indicated that, to his knowledge, the projects involving nuclear craft had been discontinued; but was this really the case?

Several incidents bring to mind the notion that, indeed, the U.S. Government may have continued working on advanced aircraft that drew flight power from nuclear sources. Sadly, the best evidence to support these claims exists in the injuries and ailments sustained by civilians who came into close proximity to these craft. One widely reported incident occurred in December 1980, when two women, Betty Cash and Vicky Landrum, along with Landrum’s seven-year-old grandson, witnessed a large diamond-shaped UFO hovering over the highway as they traveled home from dinner. As they approached the object, Betty stopped the car, and got out of the vehicle to observe the craft, which hovered over the highway in front of her, producing tremendous heat before leaving the area. As it disappeared, the witnesses say more than twenty military helicopters then appeared.

After the incident, all three victims suffered symptoms of radiation poisoning, with Betty Cash, who had gotten out of the vehicle, suffering the most. The Air Force was contacted, whom the individuals had hoped might provide medical assistance for their ailments. The officials they spoke with, however, denied any involvement in the event that had transpired. Betty Cash passed away in Birmingham, Alabama on the 18th anniversary of the event, having suffered a variety of cancers and other conditions that developed after her encounter. Her amazing story was documented in the 1990s by the popular program Unsolved Mysteries, featuring a variety of commentary from doctors and others involved in what became known as the Cash-Landrum Incident.

Now France – UFO Phenomenon is real and definitely extraterrestrial origin.

A new French report released on May 31, 2010 concluded that UFOs are definitely real and possibly of extraterrestrial origin.

The Progress Report of the Sigma/3AF Commission comes from a highly credible source, the Aeronautical & Astronomical Association of France, known as the 3AF, which established a Commission on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena back in May 2008.

The Commission’s President is Alain Boudier, a former French Defense attaché, and one of its key members is Jean-Gabriel Greslé, a former fighter pilot who studied at the U.S. Air Force Academy and later became an airliner pilot with Air France, where he experienced a couple of UFO sightings. Greslé has published three UFO books in France, including Unidentified Flying Objects: An Airline Pilot Talks (Guy Trédaniel, 1993).

The Sigma/3AF is not a final report but just a work in progress document; nevertheless, it provides good background material on the history of official UFO research in France, a balance of Sigma’s work during the last two years, a brief description of the most significant French cases, and some comments and conclusions. The report begins with a brief history of French official UFO research, which is quite extensive: “France is the only country where the collection of Unidentified Aerospace Phenomena (PAN in French) and its scientific study have been assigned since 1977 to a civilian official organization, the CNES (National Center for Space Studies, the French space agency) through the GEPAN study group.”

After a short description of this unit, now known as GEIPAN (Study and Information Group on Aerospace Unidentified Phenomena), the report outlines other official or quasi-official French studies, including the famous COMETA (Committee for In-Depth Studies) Report of 1999, issued by a group of high-ranking retired French military and intelligence officers, which concluded that UFOs were real and probably extraterrestrial.

I posted a sighting earlier but now have more time and better perspective to describe what my mother, my skeptic friend and I saw last evening. My friend is convinced there must be a reasonable, logical (simplest answer is most likely) explaination for what happened. I and my mother on the other hand are not quite sure. My mother noted the exact time, but I’d say it was shortly after 8:00 pm on 8/20/2010 that we saw something utterly incredible that lasted well over an hour. Initially I had gone outside to have a cigarette in anticipation of my friends arrival. Upon lighting my cigarette I noticed a faint light that seemed to streak across the sky. As an avid skywatcher I’m very familiar with the goings on in the night sky, especially in the tri-state area. The rear of my house (the deck) faces the West. Newark airport is to my South and other major tri-state area airports are obviously toward my East. What we saw however, has nothing to do with planes. After first seeing this faint light I was slightly perplexed. All of a sudden multiple lights began to appear and reappear all over the western sky above the treeline and “houseline” behind my house. I’d say over the course of the sighting there were anywhere from 6-12 seperate lights. These lights, although a significant distance away, were something that shocked me. I had never seen anything like them. Planes were traveling across the sky. In contrast to these planes, the objects were moving at incredible speeds...speeds that, as far as I know, are inhumanly possible. I’d estimate THOUSANDS of miles per hour. I can estimate these incredible speeds due to the known limited speed of commercial airliners. Furthermore, these objects were moving in MANY different directions. I mean right angles, reversing direction “on a dime”, vertically, horizontally, etc. during a sparing few instances these white lights would seemingly flash a red or orange hue as well. I would describe their movements; as if in a dogfight seemingly interacting with eachother at times. Mind you, all the while planes are traveling through the sky. This activity lasted for over an hour and probably significantly longer, but I had left to meet with friends at a local bar. I can say with complete and utter confidence that these lights were NOT; planes, helicopters, blimps (they move WAY too slowly and most likely don’t travel at night as far as I know), spotlights,drones, flares, or any other craft civlian or military that I have EVER seen, read about or heard of in any capacity whatsoever. I can say this due to the astonishing capabilities these possible “craft” displayed. In addition, these lights disappeared and reappeared during their amazing acrobatics. I mean they were there and then not and then there again…all over the sky traveling multiple directions, at times crossing paths and seemingly chasing each other. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. I am still in a state of awe and would love to hear if anyone else has any information on this. I know MUFON follows up on reports and I highly suggest calling tri-state area airports and/or FAA officials (as well as local military bases) for reports made by personell and airline pilots between the hours of 7pm-11pm. something strange was definitely occuring last night and SOMEONE else MUST have reported this event, seeing as how it was not very latein the evening . Please get back to me about any information you obtain. I am very curious about what my mother and I witnessed. As far as photographs are concerned, I do have HD photos that show some strange “streaks” when fully zoomed in. My photos were taken with a canon Rebel T1I EOS digital camera. Unfortunately for me, windows and IE do not read .MOV files (common digital camera file). This means I would have to convert these photos into a seperate file and video format thus losing the quality of the images when uploaded to the internet rendering them completely useless. These photos however, have points of reference. In said photos are two neighbors houses, trees, stars and even passing planes and (when fully zoomed) show (at multiple lengths of exposure) that these “streaks” are neither planes nor stars. How do I know this? at a 10″ exposure the planes are OBVIOUS in nature, the stars are “solid”, and the “streaks” cover a much greater distance than that of either the planes or stars. If you (investigators) would like these photos feel free to contact me any time day or night and I will gladly provide them to you in any form you see fit. Although, you may need a Mac computer to read them in their current form. Thank you for your time…

According to a Chinese pilot, he noticed a flickering white and blue object, which hovered right beside the aircraft just as he was about to land. The pilot observed how an oval-shaped flying object was escorting the airplane. Then suddenly, the object made a rapid turn and disappeared behind the clouds.

This story could sound rather nonsensical. However, other two pilots from other Chinese aircrafts reported the exact same phenomenon to the control center. One of them was piloting at 120 km to the North, while the other was flying at 300km to the South, reports “Izvestia”.

A considerable amount of such strange encounters with “feidi” (this is how a UFO is referred to in China) has been recorded in China for the past few years. In some cases, people saw fluorescent orange light, above which hovered a rather strangely-shaped object. In other instances, people witnessed an object no bigger than a basket ball which had been divided in half right before their eyes. The two balls started circling the area and then disappeared completely. One time, people witnessed an object similar to a whipping top. Its trail was marked by a stripe of light. The object was also held responsible for shutting off electricity in several houses, since no malfunction had been reported at the electric power station.

One Chinese newspaper “South China Monitoring Post” reported the most fascinating case. One hundred Chinese witnessed a double-seated fighter-interceptor of the Chinese Air Force “playing cat-and-mouse” with a hypothetical UFO not far away from a military base in the town of Chinjou.

A mushroom-shaped object with rotating brightly lit bottom was spotted by four radar stations. When approaching the interceptor (in about 4,000 meters), the object instantly moved upwards. None of the ground-based control services ordered to open fire.

“Izvestia” reports that China has a record number of special clubs of UFO lovers. There are many who attempt to establish some sort of a connection with the extraterrestrial. Their actions are protected by the National Society of the extraterrestrial studies, which was founded 25 years ago. The Society is financed by the government. Only professional scientists and engineers are allowed in the Society. A person also required to have PhD in science and have several published works about UFOs. About a third of all members of the society are also experienced members of the communist party.

One of Chinese most famous experts in ufology, 66-year-old Sun Shili, who is also a former diplomat and a translator of Mao Zedong, has told us about his first encounter with an unidentified object. It happened in 1971 during the “cultural revolution” when Sun Shili had been undergoing physical labor at a correctional facility high up in the mountains of the Tsyansi province. One day, while working in the rice fields, he spotted a strange object in the sky. He momentarily thought it was a real UFO.

Experts from the National Society claim that half of Chinese residents believe in such phenomenon. Sun Shili explains such interest in UFOs in China (every fifth UFO appears in this country) in the following way. He says that China appeals to aliens the most, due to the country’s recent breakthroughs and its aspiration to become the world’s leader.

Aliens used to be interested in the US up until recently. According to Sun Shili (and his opinion is shared by many in the National Society) some of the aliens live among us, by turning into humans.

Some researchers believe that there are specific areas on Earth where UFOs land on a regular basis. Often these alien “cosmodromes” sit on top of or inside mountains. One of those mysterious places is Mount El-Taire in Bolivia.

“The mountains here in Bolivia, like in neighboring lands, are rich in mineral deposits,” Yuri Suprunenko, Ph.D., told Pravda.Ru. “There are deposits of tin, tungsten, zinc, lead, antimony, silver, and precious metals.

But it so happened that hundreds of miners have witnessed rare metals that have fallen from the sky. Not just rare, but extraordinary and unprecedented alloys! But these were not meteorites. The events took place in the Bolivian village of La Mamoru Tarija, near the foot of Mount El-Taire, in May of 1978.”

That day, according to Yuri Suprunenko, local residents saw something unusual. A bright lit object in the form of a cylinder with a cone-shaped front part appeared in the sky. It was approximately 6 meters long and 4 meters in diameter. It had no wings.

There was not much on its surface and no hatches or portholes. A bluish flame came out from its tail. It made a whistling sound as it was no more than a hundred meters from the ground to an object, but it descended at a speed of 300-400 km/h.

According to some eyewitnesses, a second similar object came flying right after the first one. Meanwhile, the first one, without reducing its speed, had crashed into a mountainside of El-Taire. At the moment of impact, a bright flash of light appeared, illuminating the area in a radius of 150 km around, there was a terrible roar.

The tremors were felt even in the neighboring Argentina. A pressure wave blew out windows in homes in a radius of 70 km. The blast has formed a crater about 1,500 meters long, 500 meters wide and 400 meters deep.

Local authorities did not provide any explanation and ordered to immediately cordon off the area of Mount El-Taire with troops and declare it a forbidden zone. However, local people, tourists and researchers discussed the theories of a UFO crash.

Incidentally, crashes of alleged unidentified flying objects with “evidence” occurred in the past. For example, in neighboring Brazil, near Sao Paulo in 1957 a shiny disc flying at high speed was observed. In front of a witness, it suddenly began to decline, then stopped, rocked and exploded, scattering thousands of tiny pieces.

On a clear day glowing fireworks soared in the sky. Part of the fallen debris was collected by local residents. The material was light as paper, with a rough surface. Several Brazilian laboratories conducted a spectral analysis of these fragments.

It showed the presence of magnesium with special crystal structure impossible to obtain in terrestrial conditions. Metallographic and microscopic analysis, in turn, revealed a significant content of strontium, which is usually not combined with magnesium.

“The Brazilian incident is recorded in the Encyclopedia Britannica, which usually does not dare publish unverified facts. In the postwar years, several dozen of similar cases were recorded in different parts of the world!” says Yuri Suprunenko. “Over 70 thousand UFO photographs were made, and over 120 video clips were recorded.

Today, many of this documentary evidence are available to the public. But until recently the information was classified “Top Secret,” “Restricted,” “Highly Confidential” and “View-Only” … The main reason for this super-secrecy was the rivalry of countries in the area of weapons.

The explosion on the slope of El-Taire also received “confidential” status. After the mountain was cordoned off with the troops, a special commission has been established to investigate the causes of incident.

An object of cylindrical shape with a deformed body was found on El-Taire . No explanation followed: either one object exploded, or the second one was found on the slope. The object caused this powerful explosion, but somehow survived. The survey and the conclusions about the nature of the explosion have never been published.

People in the mining town at the foot of El-Taire just heard a rumor that the deformed shell of the UFO was delivered by helicopter to the Bolivian airport, and from where it was sent with a military transport aircraft to the U.S.

“Maybe with time we will learn more about the incident in the El-Taire,” says Yuri Suprunenko.

“Some UFOs are intelligently controlled extraterrestrial spacecraft, and this is the biggest story of the millennium.”

These words are not the rantings of a deranged individual looking for attention or a comfortable straitjacket, Stanton Friedman is a maverick of sorts.

Employed for 14 years as a nuclear physicist for companies like General Electric, General Motors, Westinghouse and Aerojet General Nucleonics, he worked on highly classified programs involving nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets.

In 1958, UFOs caught his attention, and Friedman has since lectured about this subject at more than 700 colleges and professional groups in all 50 states and around the world.

“After 53 years of investigation, I’m convinced we’re dealing here with a cosmic Watergate,” he told AOL News. “That means a few people within major governments have known since at least 1947 that some UFOs are alien spacecraft.”

In Friedman’s new book, ” Sciense was wrong” co-authored with Kathleen Marden, he wrote, “There’s been no shortage of strong, negative proclamations from debunking groups and individuals who refuse to examine the evidence … to support the notion that some UFOs are of extraterrestrial origin.”

Friedman cites many cases of UFO encounters experienced by competent, reliable eyewitnesses, including one involving Japan Airlines.

 

“A 747 over Alaska encountered something that was twice the size of an aircraft carrier, that flew circles around the jet. They reported it to the ground, where both the UFO and the 747 were picked up on radar.

“The explanation from debunkers was that it was Jupiter! Boy, airplane radar can pick up Jupiter? It was totally ludicrous. You’re fighting the forces of ‘evil,’ one might say — arrogance and ignorance.”

While some scientists through the years have quietly suggested Earth has been visited by ETs, Friedman is the most outspoken. He’s especially irked by the attitude of scientists who use radio and optical telescopes in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, such as the SETI Instutite in California.

“Their livelihood depends on the assumption that there’s nobody coming here, and if we just wait long enough, we’re going to pick up the signal and it’ll be the greatest discovery in man’s history, and it will help solve all our problems.

“What really bothers me is that the SETI people will tell you there is no evidence for UFOs. Well, they certainly don’t reference any, so there must not be, right? Wrong!”

If so, why would reputable scientists refuse to consider that Earth may be a vacation spot for otherworldly travelers?

“Because they’d have to admit that they’d ignored such a big story for so long and that they were wrong,” Friedman said. “Being wrong is something that scientists don’t like to admit at all.”

Over the past 50 years, numerous surveys and public opinion polls have indicated that people are very interested in and, even, concerned about UFOs.
