ALGONQUIN — My 13 year old son attended a sleepover at a friend’s home situated on the bluffs overlooking the Fox River. At 3 AM, on December 12, 2009, my son, and one of the boys were up watching movies when they glanced out the window to see a massive lighted shape slowly floating north over the Fox River. Both my son, and the other boy, reported it reappeared slowly returned and going south, until it disappeared from their view. A few minutes later it was seen heading north again. It was flying just over the trees with a bright white light in front, and some smaller white lights toward the rear. The shape was like a blimp but flared in back, like a triangle. They could hear no sound. Near each light you could see a silvery patch. They could tell the size as it blocked out the stars. It did not move quickly, just slowly, almost like a powered blimp would, but they are certain it was not a blimp. PETERSBURG — It was 10:52 PM, on November 28, 2009, when I saw three brownish-orange circles with a dark center in a triangular formation flying above us. Three of my friends and I were lying down on a trampoline at one of the friend’s house on a moonlit night. We were all looking at the stars and then one person declares, “Oh my God!” In the sky, we see three circles brownish orange in color, flying from the north-west. They were in a triangular formation, flying equidistant from each other. In between the circles was a black area that blocked out the stars. It was also noiseless. PEORIA – I was driving slowly down SW Washington Street on November 24, 2009, at 7:48 PM, when I saw an object flying above and in front of me until I reached State Street. It was weird and looked different than a plane with two round lights underneath in front and back. I kept on driving slow and saw it did not have wings and it was flat like a disc! I kept driving and looking at it as it flew slowly from my left to right with no sound. It stopped and stayed above my front right sky for a while! I wanted to take a photo but I couldn’t because I was driving. It seemed totally free from gravity. I found some spot to park and then it moved quickly zigzagging, and then flew to my left and disappeared. Three minutes later a helicopter came making a loud noise and flying much higher than the UFO that did not make any sound at all. The UFO was oval, totally flat with a black bottom with two yellow lights with some red lines, one in front and one at back. Thanks to MUFON CMS

PEORIA — I saw a UFO on November 24, 2009, I was in the back seat of the car as we drove down the highway, when I saw a white line as if someone drew it with a ruler moving across the sky. I thought it was a bit weird. Few minutes later, I found that the white line was moving closer with no shape of a plane in front of that line. I took a photo and realized it was a sphere! I saw few more flying objects behind the sphere which seemed like they were chasing the shiny sphere. It was moving fast like the speed of a jet. The jets were making wide contrails, but the sphere made a line, which is caused by friction of the air because it was flying so fast. Suddenly the sphere disappeared and after few minutes two jets one chasing from behind and one coming from front, crossed quite close each other. Then the metal sphere appeared again a little bigger in size. It was a shiny metal sphere with no legs, wings, or windows. It stood there for 2 or 3 seconds, not moving at all and then slowly disappeared

PEORIA – On November 30, 2009, I was watching sky and this object flew forward and then backward. As it moved backward I took a photo of its three lights underneath. Suddenly it became brighter; when I took a photo I could see six lights under it. I was chasing it in my car and drove to where it headed backward and lost it. I decided to go home, and I found it again flying forward. I followed it and the object stopped and lit up just one blinking light, and looked like a blinking star. I watched it hover for five minutes and then it suddenly turned on its lights again and moved northeast. Thanks to MUFON CMS

EAST ST LOUIS — My son and I were walking our dogs at around 9:50 PM, on August 31, 2009, when my son looked up pointed and said “Look what is that”. There was a cigar shaped thing flying upward at an angle. We sat there and watched it fly at an angle for no more than 30 seconds. It looked again like a cigar and had a very faint trail behind it that was traveling way faster than any earth made craft we have ever seen. It slowed down for like 1 second and then took off into the night where we lost view of it.

CHICAGO — My wife and I were standing on our third floor balcony on Sunday, September 13, 2009, around 10:15 PM, when we first saw what looked like a plane on fire rise up southwest of us and continue north. The color was orange (unlike a normal plane) which led me to initially believe it was a passenger jet on fire coming in for an emergency landing. Shortly afterward three more of these lights rose from the same location flying in formation. There was no noise associated with them like a normal passenger jet or a fighter plane. I believe the time that they were in the air, and their steady climb followed by horizontal movement north, would eliminate any type of fireworks or flares. I would guess the objects were somewhere between one to two miles away. I was in such shock that I did not grab my video camera, but my wife did manage to capture this photo from her cell phone.
Note: Given the description and the photo I don’t have an explanation for this sighting. The photo was taken with a low resolution camera so little further analysis can be performed on the photo. HIGHLAND — I did not personally see the UFO, but pictures and reports were on our local news station KTVI Channel 2 in St. Louis, MO. on Sunday night May 11, 2009. Blogs were also on the net concerning this sighting. I wish you would investigate as this area frequently has UFO sightings.

KTVI Report: Some residents in Illinois may have spotted a strange sight in the sky above Highland late Sunday night. Fox 2 received a few emails about some odd-looking lights. Some are going so far as to call the lights a UFO. FOX 2 made several attempts to confirm with the state and city police, but officials say they have not heard anything about the lights. (About 20 MI East of Downtown St. Louis

GRANITE CITY — KTVI Blog (Witness Report): Saturday night my 12 year old son was asleep in his room making noises like he had a bad dream. His dad went in there and asked: “what’s wrong?” His answer was “there is a blue hovering light above me.” He is in his room not outside, but woke up to a blue light and was freaking out. His father assumed that he had played his Xbox 360 so much that the blue hovering disc above him was a dream. I assumed it was a police car that drove by with lights on, but I woke up this morning and see the story on the news. When I called my husband at work this morning and told him what I saw on the news his words were: “You gotta be kidding me!”

Note: The above photo sent to KTVI TV is interesting, but it is unknown what the witness saw. Apparently several reports of the lights were received by KTVI TV. The blog mentioned on the news report could not be found. The witness report apparently occurred late Saturday night (May 9) and not Sunday when the other reports were received. CHICAGO — The witness reports “It lit up right before my eyes, to the south of me on July 9, 2008, like a fluorescent light and then shut off.” It was closer than anything I have seen so far. On January 7, 2009, I was on my way home and saw three balls of different colored lights, slowly rotating in a triangular formation. They were flashing and slowly rotating. The balls of light stayed in a triangular formation and moved slowly to the east. I tried to get closer — but I could never get close to it. There were an extra large amount of aircraft in the sky.
