Socorro Strange Flying Objects

Approximately 11:30 am, I arrived at home from work in Socorro, NM. I had gone home to paint my garage floor during lunch. After talking to my wife she went outside to play with my 2 yr old son. Within a few minutes she called me and I went outside to investigate. She pointed to an object in the sky. I looked up and saw what appeared to be a well defined globular object of a whitish color with a brightish tinge of bluish purple. At first I thought it must be a high altitude balloon or maybe a satellite. It appeared very distant but sizable and at first appeared to be hardly moving. Its relative position was away from the sun with a clear sky and thus could be clearly seen almost directly East to NE.

At this point I ran back inside for a camera and took a picture using my personal phone camera. The object was strange enough to warrant further observation. At this point I thought I’d better get it on tape, so I scrambled to find the camcorder, at this point hoping I would be quick enough to catch it when I got back No issue the object had planned to stick around!

I began taking footage with my camcorder, and notice that other similar objects also show up on the camcorder screen besides the one that was visible with the naked eye and would appear to go from a globe shape to a diamond shape (probably artifacts I thought). At this point I wanted to know what it was so I grabbed my MEADE Telescope. The object still stuck around, now at a position almost directly overhead but appeared to be far far away. My first observation when my telescope was focused on the object was that of what appeared to be a perfect sphere with a bluish purplish hue with what appeared to be perforations or little dots (Imagine drawing a circle on paper and filling out the circle with dots). As far as I know this could have been a planet. However the telescope was removed from looking at the object and refocused several times from different positions in our backyard with the same result.

We thought, well, strange object and stopped recording, since we already had it on tape and it didn’t do anything new; but continued using the telescope. The object then transitioned to the SSE within the next 10 minutes, but now at a faster rate than it was moving previously.

While I was looking at the object through the telescope, I saw a bright green flash in the scope and my wife yelled that the object had separated into two, what appeared to be identical objects. When I looked up from the scope, I saw now two, what appeared to be two almost identical objects moving in unison with each other. My wife mentioned that during the separation there appeared to some kind of smoke trail and a long cylindrical object that fell earthwards in a wobbly pattern during the separation (I hope someone finds it, whatever it was). When observed again in the telescope, the initial bluish purple hue, object was still there, but now seemed to have a smaller black object in front that obscured a portion of the purplish bluish sphere.

The objects then appeared to transition together at a lower level across the SSE to Eastern horizon and now appeared even more distant and was no longer visible to the naked eye. I am sure there is some logical explanation. One is that it may have been a weather balloon test; not to mention atmospheric turbulence and tricky sunlight. Times we saw the objects clearly visible: 11:35 AM Mountain Time to 12:50 PM Mountain Time. Wish I had camera attachment on my telescope, this was the most amazing! I have regular camera pics and over 13 minutes of video.

(9:35PM): Just like the last time I witnessed strange lights, I was traveling home from Granbury, but this time I had my two sons with me. As we reached the top of a hill on FM56, I noticed a very bright, slow moving, circular/round object in the Northern sky. Due to this road being very dangerous without any safe areas to pullover, I decided to travel to a known location where I could overlook the field of interest where these lights seemed to be orbiting. As I was traveling to this area, each hilltop allowed me to take a quick glance to my right and see this object still illuminating. It took me nearly 5 mins to reach my “lookout point” on Star Hollow Rd and W.D. Ct in Lipan. When I reached this point I noticed it was very dim, but after a few minutes the same bright light reappeared fully. It was moving west from the Weatherford area toward the Mineral Wells area. From my position the craft was operating 25*-30* above the horizon. Weatherford is 25nm from this position and the light was near the 20nm mark from me. Of course, this is all based on an educated guess, using an aeronautical sectional map and some simple mathematics. My two sons were so intrigued with the experience we all were sharing and even the 10 yr old said to me, “that’s not normal”. I agreed and at that point decided I better grab some pictures with my SLR camera before this one gets away. I had time to take one picture before it disappeared. Within seconds after it vanished I noticed one, maybe two fighter jets traveling very fast toward the area where the lights where located. They traveled toward the Mineral Wells area, maybe further then I lost site of them. I thought at one point I noticed the UFO reappear out past Mineral Wells area, but I am unsure what I saw at that point… it was just a flash. My two sons and I began our journey home, another 3 miles or so, and never saw the lights again. The one picture I did capture is pretty interesting to view since I have never taken a picture of anything similar to this before. I feel 100% positive it was not a commercial airliner on approach to DFW or any other airports nearby. Like my other sighting, I had to rule out all other possibilities (IFO’s) before deciding to submit this sighting to MUFON. I still feel this is a government operation of some kind. I called a friend of mine who lives in the area where I feel this occurred and he did say at 10pm or so he heard a helicopter, very low altitude, and a jet of some kind. He actually lives in between Weatherford and Azle. His conformation of jets/helicopters go hand in hand with the time frame I witnessed the aircraft show up and the UFO disappearing from eyesight. So… here we go again, eyes to the skies!

ALGONQUIN — My 13 year old son attended a sleepover at a friend’s home situated on the bluffs overlooking the Fox River. At 3 AM, on December 12, 2009, my son, and one of the boys were up watching movies when they glanced out the window to see a massive lighted shape slowly floating north over the Fox River. Both my son, and the other boy, reported it reappeared slowly returned and going south, until it disappeared from their view. A few minutes later it was seen heading north again. It was flying just over the trees with a bright white light in front, and some smaller white lights toward the rear. The shape was like a blimp but flared in back, like a triangle. They could hear no sound. Near each light you could see a silvery patch. They could tell the size as it blocked out the stars. It did not move quickly, just slowly, almost like a powered blimp would, but they are certain it was not a blimp. My son as an adamant non-believer in any type of phenomenon like this, and said it was the most frightening thing he ever encountered. (Depiction of triangle.) Thanks to MUFON CMS

PETERSBURG — It was 10:52 PM, on November 28, 2009, when I saw three brownish-orange circles with a dark center in a triangular formation flying above us. Three of my friends and I were lying down on a trampoline at one of the friend’s house on a moonlit night. We were all looking at the stars and then one person declares, “Oh my God!” In the sky, we see three circles brownish orange in color, flying from the north-west. They were in a triangular formation, flying equidistant from each other. In between the circles was a black area that blocked out the stars. It was also noiseless. PEORIA – I was driving slowly down SW Washington Street on November 24, 2009, at 7:48 PM, when I saw an object flying above and in front of me until I reached State Street. It was weird and looked different than a plane with two round lights underneath in front and back. I kept on driving slow and saw it did not have wings and it was flat like a disc! I kept driving and looking at it as it flew slowly from my left to right with no sound. It stopped and stayed above my front right sky for a while! I wanted to take a photo but I couldn’t because I was driving. It seemed totally free from gravity. I found some spot to park and then it moved quickly zigzagging, and then flew to my left and disappeared. Three minutes later a helicopter came making a loud noise and flying much higher than the UFO that did not make any sound at all. The UFO was oval, totally flat with a black bottom with two yellow lights with some red lines, one in front and one at back. Thanks to MUFON CMS

PEORIA — I saw a UFO on November 24, 2009, I was in the back seat of the car as we drove down the highway, when I saw a white line as if someone drew it with a ruler moving across the sky. I thought it was a bit weird. Few minutes later, I found that the white line was moving closer with no shape of a plane in front of that line. I took a photo and realized it was a sphere! I saw few more flying objects behind the sphere which seemed like they were chasing the shiny sphere. It was moving fast like the speed of a jet. The jets were making wide contrails, but the sphere made a line, which is caused by friction of the air because it was flying so fast. Suddenly the sphere disappeared and after few minutes two jets one chasing from behind and one coming from front, crossed quite close each other. Then the metal sphere appeared again a little bigger in size. It was a shiny metal sphere with no legs, wings, or windows. It stood there for 2 or 3 seconds, not moving at all and then slowly disappeared

PEORIA – On November 30, 2009, I was watching sky and this object flew forward and then backward. As it moved backward I took a photo of its three lights underneath. Suddenly it became brighter; when I took a photo I could see six lights under it. I was chasing it in my car and drove to where it headed backward and lost it. I decided to go home, and I found it again flying forward. I followed it and the object stopped and lit up just one blinking light, and looked like a blinking star. I watched it hover for five minutes and then it suddenly turned on its lights again and moved northeast. Thanks to MUFON CMS
